Out Of School Children Before The Child Welfare Committee

The idea of seeing the “Out of School Children” as “children in need of care and protection” has since 2015 sat in our minds. We believe that strengthening the Child Welfare Committee in the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act could be a game changer in all the work and efforts in upliftment of poor and vulnerable children. This Write-up was submitted to the Retd High Court Justice Chandru, One Man Committee studying Juvenile Homes. Women's Safety: How Serious Are We?

In February 2019, two decades after Vishaka and Ors. vs State of Rajasthan was ruled, Payanmaram Trust initiated a simple online review of a few colleges under AICTE (post harrassment complaints from its beneficiaries studying in colleges) to see the state of Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) for Sexual Harassment granted by the SC under the PIL. Despite this being presently backed by the POSH Act 2013, there is still a clear lack of will to proactively disclose or set up the necessary redressal institutions to address Sexual Harassment meted out to women in the workplace and in educational institutions failing women time and again. Migrant Children and Language

In 2016, an RTI was filed individually seeking to study ‘Chinnara Angala’, a Non-Residential Bridge Program to mainstream Out of School Children. The present analyses of children focuses on Language medium of instruction and the easy dropping out of children speaking a different tongue. Some of the studies on language learning ability referenced by this report are irrelevant today and new research shows language learning ability does not diminish with age like it was perceived in the past.
